Community | Dance | Wellbeing
Community Dance Movement Lab is a community-based dance program open to adult participants with or without any dance experience. The program aims to promote dance's transformative and therapeutic power while building personal and collective well-being. The classes focus on embodied exploration, introspection, and community building.

Transmute energy stored/locked in the body
Ignite creativity, joy, and connection
Develop kinesthetic empathy
Develop body listening skills and attune to its intuitive wisdom
Serve community members by removing economic barriers to share the power of dance and community
FORMAT
Warm-Up: guided movement practice designed to build awareness and presence in our bodies
Movement Exploration: self-expressive somatic practice, exploring our inner landscape through dance and building bodily, sensory, and affective awareness

WHO IS THIS FOR
Anyone curious to understand and develop a deeper connection with their body through movement, breath and self-reflection
Individuals who use movement to think, feel, communicate, and interact with the world around them (kinesthetic learners) and/or those who would like to be introduced to different (embodied) ways of knowing
Everyone seeking to invite more movement, dance, fun, joy, connection and play into their life
People looking for ways to reconnect to their bodily and intuitive knowing and (re)discover joy and freedom in their body and movement
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
No previous movement/dance practice is required. All bodies and movement experiences are encouraged and welcome.
While the program is offered for free, registration is highly recommended and limited to 10 - 12 participants. Keeping the sessions small gives us ample space to move and enough time to reflect and connect. Registration closes each Monday afternoon (4 pm EST) or earlier if we reach capacity. Register for the whole session (5 weeks) or join us on a week-to-week basis.
Please wear loose and comfortable clothing. Bring a journal or notebook and something to write with. You may also bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated.

Please arrive 10 min – 15 min. early to get settled and grounded so we can begin on time.
CANCELATION POLICY
If you can no longer attend the session, please give us at least 24 hours notice so we can open your spot to other community members.
