I was introduced to yoga while living in Asia. Its deeply rich philosophical and spiritual teachings provided answers to some of my existential questions, like What is the meaning of our lived experiences and how they - along with the languages we speak, cultures and landscapes we are born in - shape the lens through which we see ourselves, the others, and the world? How do we use our experiences to transform ourselves, expand our perception, and transcend the scope of our limited understanding? The teachings resonated with me not only on an intellectual but also on a spiritual level. The study of yoga also introduced me to the teachings of the subtle body: the energetic anatomy, the chakra system, and koshas (energetic shields), providing a new language of movement. The physical practice of yoga enhanced my bodily awareness; it offered a profound insight into the mind-body-spirit connection. I was immediately captivated by this holistic system, and - eager and curious to learn and discover more - I embarked on a yogic path. I trained and studied with wonderful teachers in South Korea, Thailand, Bali, and Canada. I also learned about Chakra Therapy, completed Thai massage training in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and studied Ayurveda, which deeply enriched and profoundly altered my understanding of yoga.
After teaching in a formal education sector both in Canada and abroad for nearly two decades, I left my most recent teaching post at the University of Toronto to pursue and share the teachings of yoga, Ayurveda and the healing and transformative power of movement. I believe that how our bodies move offers us a deep insight into the multilayered aspects of our being - all we need to do is learn how to listen. Integrating my academic studies in embodied and transformative learning with my studies of yoga, Ayurveda, and Eastern philosophy along with my background in contemporary dance, I create and facilitate holistic, experiential, and integrative courses, workshops, and retreats that explore self-awareness, self-healing. and self-transformation through subtle, meditative, and restorative practices, creativity, and contemplation.
I am excited to share what I have learned over the years. I hope these teachings provide insight, lead to a more embodied presence, and offer a deeper heart connection on both individual and collective levels. I truly hope that these teachings help others as much as they helped me.
Looking forward to connecting, collaborating, and creating a community of like-minded, heart-centred beings with you.
With much love,
